Parents looking for extra summer practice on their own may appreciate some ideas for resources as well. In our district some of the teachers chose to follow up with their former students in the fall to reward them with a pencil or small prize if they completed their packets. You could print pages and create packets for your students to send home at the end of the year.

We always suggest reading independently and practicing math facts, but sometimes students need a bit more. Though we aren’t fans of drill worksheets for daily classroom practice, we also understand that many parents want something to help keep their students’ minds working throughout the summer. We have created these skill practice pages based on common kindergarten standards that you can send home with your students for summer math practice.
